Christmas Potatoes Four Ways

Everyone loves potatoes

This year I am hosting two Christmas dinners. The first is a more formal affair for my husband's side of the family on Christmas Eve, where we traditionally serve a prime rib or filet roast. Then, my family will come over for a more casual Christmas day dinner of turkey, ham, and fish. Regardless of the main entree, potatoes will be on the menu.

I've put together what I consider to be the best potato recipes for holiday dinners. I hope you can find one of these do-ahead dishes to grace your dinner table.

No one says comfort food better than Ree Drummond. Her creamy mashed potatoes have one five ingredients and can be made ahead and reheated.

Every single diet I ever fell off of was because of potatoes and gravy of some sort.

Martha Stewart is all about making recipes ahead of the party so you can enjoy the festivities yourself. Potatoes Anna (pomme Anna), a crispy, buttery French treat can be made eight hours ahead.

We used to call them Scottsdale Potatoes. Some call them funeral potatoes, but regardless, these make-ahead potatoes casserole using frozen hashbrowns and corn flakes for the topping are a crowd-pleaser.

Everyone’s Favorite

Scalloped potatoes seem to be a hit in any meal, especially Christmas dinner alongside a prime rib roast. This creamy and savory dish is from A Southern Soul, which uses a hint of garlic, fresh thyme, and parmesan cheese.

We have lots of ideas for you to bring to your holiday table.
