Frances Valentine - Our New Sweetheart Fashion Fav

Updated Vintage

Frances Valentine is one of my new favorite fashion brands. Founded by long-time friends Kate and Andy Spade and Elyce Arons, they take vintage styles to an elevated level. Swing coats are back, as are three-quarter sleeve cardigans. The fabrics are bright and cheery and, in my opinion, wearable.

This isn’t your grandma’s cardigan

The Wool Border Sweater is warm and cozy but fun and edgy too.

Frances Valentine is authentic, approachable and its own unique brand of cool.

Your mom might have owned a jacket similar to this, but would she have worn it with distressed jeans? The Sequin Flower Jacket in gold can elevate a casual look or be worn over something more formal.

The wool plaid swing coat takes on fall colors but is juxtaposed with bright trousers and a sweater, and of course, accessories! New arrivals come in all the time and sales make last season’s favorites a reason to stock up.

Did we mention accessories?

I first discovered Frances Valentine when passing one of its stores on Madison Avenue. The charm of the establishment was immediate, and I moved in to take a closer look. I love casual comfort and bright colors in clothing, and their caftans and embroidered tops had both. Her styles spoke to my Southern California roots. With only slight seasonal differences, I can wear these pieces year-round.
