February's Flower - Violets

So much history with the violet

February's flower is the delicate violet; however, its history has deep roots. Some believe the violet dates back to 500 BC when the Greeks and Romans used this flower in herbal remedies to fight various illnesses, make wine, and create love potions. In the 19th century, Napoleon Bonaparte covered his wife Josephine's grave with these deep purple beauties and was declared "Corporal Violet."

Violets carry deep meaning depending on their color

Which color speaks to you?

The violet is a symbol of delicate love and affection, as well as faith, modesty, nobility, dignity, and intuition. The meaning varies depending on the colors and flower arrangements. Blue Violet is meant for faithfulness and love while yellow means goodness and worthiness. White violets represent chastity and purity.
